Remember that Haiku is based on the NewOS kernel so if NewOS runs, Haiku runs too (well, will run when it will be ready...)

NewOS is cool and all but it is reall ynot good for anything as far as i am concerned....i mean what would you use it for? though it is cool

I'm happy about the porting brecause it's the same kernel of Haiku OS...

not the same kernel....Haiku's kernel started as the NewOs kernel but has been modified considerably. if you wrote a program for NewOS it would not compile under Haiku. I believe the creator of NewOs worked for Be Inc though.

another little thing on the NewOS engine is that it is incredibly! portible, which i think is really cool

Nope. NewOS is still a command line only os... Consider it just an experiment of a deviated mind...

I tried compiling NewOS for the Pegasos a couple of months ago. I ran into some problems with the toolchain and gave up.
