I'm writing a Gallery engine in PHP, and I want to run it on my PegII too. The only trouble is, that there is no useable Apache webserver with the needed features. Currently I'm using Louise's Apache 1.3.27 with PHP 4.3.2, but this does not have GD JPEG support. (The other thing is, that it's InetD-only, so very slow...) The others I've found were all too old os misfunctioning on MOS. Is there any good, stable, and configured with 2.0+ GD version? Or could anyone compile one? (I was told, that it's not too difficult, but I am not enought for this job)

I tired to compile PHP yesterday (I never compiled anything before), but I failed. It needs libjpeg. Ok, I compiled it, everything was fine, but then it needed libpng. Configure didn't work, I have compiled it by hand (with the help of a friend of mine), but then PHP needed jpeglib again. This took 6 or 7 hours for me... So... really is there nobady who can help me and compile a working apache with the latest PHP and GDlib support?

I think you should try to talk to Galaxy or Tokai on IRC for this. They both seem to be very good coders.
