I would like to get some data for MorphOS idle system temperatures. Feel free to add machines to this list and reply+append with your data and we can get an idea of "normal" temperatures for each machine. Redundant temps are valuable. If your temp is 15º or more out of range, then check your hardware and omit adding that temperature to the list.

I am primarily interested in this data to see if I can avoid re-pasting an iMac G5 2.1Ghz : )

Tip: Activate the Thermal module on the screenbar and then hover the mouse over the screenbar temperature display to get a quick list of all temperatures.

The following idle temperature records are from what I assume are original hardware machines measured in 2026 at ~ 23ºC ambient. These are personal readings to initiate the collection.

    PowerMac G5 1117 2.0 Ghz
    CPU A 45º
    CPU B 37º
    Backside 37º
    Kodiak Diode 52º
    GPU 62º (X1950XT upgrade)

    PowerMac G5 1117 2.3 Ghz
    CPU A 48º
    CPU B 43º
    Backside 37º
    Kodiak Diode 49º
    GPU 49º (X1900XT upgrade)

    iMac G5 A1145 2.1 Ghz
    CPU 59º
    NorthBridge 66º
    GPU 55º

    PowerBook G4 1.67 Ghz
    CPU 36º
    NorthBridge 39º
    GPU 38º

@ EVX - My own A1145 iMac (iSight) G5 hardware is similar to your temps, but I added them all, relative to the Incoming air temperature which was about 32C at the time:

    A1145 20" iMac (iSight) 2.1GHz G5
    GPU 59-60C
    Northbridge 71C (Ambient Northbridge 61C)
    CPU 67C
    HDD 44C
    Optical drive 40C.
    MacMini 1.5GHz,64MB VRAM, PowerBooks A1138/9 (Model 5,8/9),PowerMac G5 2.3GHz(DP), iMac A1145 2.1GHz 20", all with MorphOS v3.20+,Airport,Bluetooth,A1016 Keyboard,T-RB22 Mouse,DVD-RW-DL,MiniMax,Firewire/USB2 & MacOSX 10.4/5

    Powerbook G4 A1106

    CPU:37 C
    NorthBridge:39.8 C
    GPU:37.5 C
    Trackpad:27.5 C

Temperatures taken after 20 minutes from boot.

Room temperature: 21.5 C which may make difference when someones is few degrees higher or lower.

Here is for amigaOne X5000/20 Cyrus+.

    CPU 40°C
    Mainboard 31°C
    PCIe Switch 52°C

In the room the temperature is 26.5°C but in a few days or at the end of this week There might be a 4th episode of canicula heat. If the temperature inside raise I will measure again the temperatures idle for my amigaOne X5000/20 Cyrus+. I got the temperatures just after boot.

When I got this computer the cpu fan and the 2 chassis fans were connected to the motherboard. It has sensors and so I obtain temperatures but I has nothing to managed or adjust the 3 fans speed. This speed does not vary whatever the cpu is cold in winter or hot, very hot, in summer. And thus the cpu may get fried. So I have plugged the 2 chassis fans and the cpu fan to a set of wire, present in each case of FractalDesign, to a sata power connector and to a button 3 positions upper the rear chassis fan. So I manualy adjust the speed of the 3 fans. At he highest position the cpu fan, Gelid Silent 6, becomes a bit loudy. But if that prevent the cpu from being fried that stays as is.
