To all that want at least to burn DataDVDs for buckup or such stuff. I registred TheFryingPan and i am very satisfied, TFP burnd a full DVD with 4,7GB of data on a DVD-R and on DVD-RW without problems "on the fly". So get that Software now if you want to burn DVDs under MOS without the need of Linux! :-D

    Hi all,

FryingPan had naver troubles with DVD+ media, only DVD- media was a bit problematic. The current FryingPan burns everything and pretty well. I suppose, everyone should register this cheap piece of software.

afaik, that's problem of OS only... I can burn 4.7 or even 8.5 gig DVDs with FryingPan on the fly, but I can access them only under linux... I hope, this 'feature' will be fixed soon.

    Bye, MarK.

ps: I asked about these troubles quite long time ago (in time of MOS 1.3) and I was told, that it will be fixed in MOS 1.4... and guess... it wasn't.

How fast do you write the DVD's? Does it use a lot of CPU? (Under linux I can burn DVD's at 4x speed (I have a 16x writer) with almost 0% CPU load.)

I burnt a DVD 16x with about 70% (iirc) of CPU usage with Pegasos2/G4. This isn't a problem of FryingPan, but missing DMA support in MorphOS, I guess.

    @ SoundSquare: Read my Signatur! I have a NEC ND-3500 AG DVD+/-RW 16x Drive!

@ MarK: Why you can't read the whole DVD? I burnt one with over 4Gigs on the fly with 13 avi files and i can play them all!

@ ThePlayer: I don't know, I can play them also, but (in MPlayer) I'm not able to move in the movie. Usualy every movie, that is placed on the end of the DVD doesn't play well (till end). And FP's structure causes, that directories are burnt after files (in root) so if You have a directory with 500 megs and then the rest of avis, those files in the directory won't work, while all the files in root will. Atleast under actual MorphOS.

    Bye, MarK.

I burnt a DVD with 1,6GB Backup of my SYS:Partion and the rest was filled with Avi Files. I can't even play the Avis or copy them back to my HD but the SYS backup is OK. :-(
Now i will try to put the Avis into the SYS drawer on the DVD!

With the latest FryingPan 0.4b, I burnt a DVD 16x with only about 15% CPU usage! The big amount was probably caused by debug output.

    Vivat FryingPan.

    Bye, MarK.

PS: I will check asap the 4 gig support with new MorphOS 1.4.4 :-) Thanks MOS Team!!!
