    Hello,

    I like the game Wipeout 2097,
    only it plays not well on my Peg2,
    It dramatically slows down, as if it freezes the system for short while's , anybody
    had this experience to ?!?!

    I saw ppl on BAS2003 show on Genesi stand playing
    this game very smoothy, is there a patch ???
    Somebody told me that it has to do with chip memory acces ?!?!?

    Thx

    Thx

    The original game engine is buggy, and generates hits, which slows downs the game itself. The bug remains hidden on the first map of the game.

    Is there HW 3D support or is the game you are running using SW rendering only? I have not tried this game on MorphOS myself, so I don't know, but AFAIR Wipeout 2097 was on display at some show using hardware 3D acceleration (actually Radeon if I remember correctly). That should be pretty smooth. Perhaps that's what you saw?
    MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
    MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

    @takemehomegrandfather :-)

    Well.. In the GUI there is a button/option for HW3D but it is dark (not clickelble) so i think
    that it use SW...or not that i don't no :-(
    I have VooDoo3 2000 (and use it for the game)
    so then it use HW right ???
    Or are they two sepperant things ???
    Beats me :-)

    See here for a patch for Wipeout 2097.

    Don't forget to read the readme :)

    AFAIK WipeOut 2097 works in 3D accelerated mode only. It shouldn't have a SW renderer. In fact I guess you can play it only thanks to the fact you own a VooDoo card. But I remember I red somewhere you shouldn't use resolutions higher than 640*480: in your case the gfx card is the bottleneck.
    But I might be wrong... :-P

    Kind regards,
    Andrea

    OFFTOPIC but when you said:

    "seen at BAS2003" you mean in a video downloaded from any site from Internet or you mean in the real place.?

    If can be downloaded that video from any site, please tell me the URL.

    thx

    Hi
    I tried that patch out. It runs with some little interruptions. It is very playable now, even with 1024*768. With 800*600 it is too fast :-D
    I played Wipeout on PegI with a Voodoo3 3500 here.

    @grooves

    I have now LITTLE interruptions to so,
    but it still is annoying when you are "IN TO THE GAME" :-)

    And "Venom" Class is not playble, the pegasos is to fast,even with SM 1024x768 :-) even the sound when you die or to late for checkpoint goes faaaast :lol:

    To bad, i have to go to my OLD ugly PSX1 for playing that cool game :-)

    I think it is because i'm on a PegII and G4 :-D

    iirc, you can set various graphic details (such as drawing distance) with function keys... Set them to full, maybe that will slow the game down, just a (necessary) bit :-)

    Just unselect "unlimited" in "Speed limit" and use 60fps.
    Has someone been able to use Joypad with Wipeout? It seems to not work here (USB one)..

    @Miky060

    That helps not to, maybe the Speed Limit must be lower ???

    My USB-PSX Adapter is on his way at CompCity, i hope
    to get it this week :-)
    But if it's not working at your place i'm not happy, WIPEOUT was the reason that i ordered the Adapter .... grrr
    I will let you know if it works or not when i have have the Adapter :-)
