Hi everyone, I have an annoying lockup problem on my Pegasos 2 G4 system.
When I am using Remote Desktop and playing back audio - either through Remote Desktop's audio forwarding or through ANR (streaming from the net), eventually my system will totally lock up. You will still hear the music in the speakers repeating itself in a frozen state. The only solution is to physically reset the machine. Because it is a total lockup, there is nothing in the debug logs indicating any error.
I have tried just about everything under the sun to fix this problem including:
-different graphics card
-different audio card
-different RAM
-re-seating all components on motherboard
-re-formatting and reinstalling MorphOS 1.4.4
-updating AHI to latest release
-changing tcp/ip stacks
-changing keyboards
-adjusting SFS cache settings
At this point none of the above has solved the problem. My machine can work fine for hours and then all of a sudden totally freeze, or within 15-45 minutes it can freeze.
If I don't play back audio my machine will be fine-no freeze. It seems to be related somehow to TCP/IP traffic, continuously streaming music, and using Remote Desktop and/or other software that is putting load on the machine such as IBrowse.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? My warranty is quickly coming to an end on my Pegasos 2 and I am wondering if this could be a hardware issue.
