    Hello guys @ morphZone!
I'd like to know if I have some chances to solve my problem with an USB MP3 reader/memory stick (Magnex).
I have l:fat95 and Posedion stack (version 2.2) bundled with my peg2 G3 arrived a week ago and I think it's the latest version.
When plugged, the device is recognized as masstorage.device but no more... I tried to activate some flags like better removable support etc. in the configuration panel but nothing works, I can't see the memory stick in MOS.
I have also tried to edit a mountlist file from scratch and then I can see the device mounted in MOS but when I try to acces to it I get a "no disk present" error.
So, must I sell my MP3 reader and buy another one (what model do you know works on Peg2?) or I have some possibilities to have my Magnex working?
Thanks in advance to the nice morphzone users for this and others reply in my previous newbie MOS threads!
    Aloha.

    Check out Platon's Posiedon Homepage.

I think there is an update available there for USB. I would try to fiddle around with the USB settings prior to giving up. If it's reporting as a mass storage device, chances are that it may work. :-)

    Nothing to do.
I tried the latest version of Poseidon and the only thing I notice is that my USB players is now recognised as "wireless pacemaker" or "Teddy Bear". It's an april joke or I am infected with a virus :-) ?
So I renew my question. Does somebody have experience with a working MP3 USB player in MOS?
    Thanx and ciao.

I continue to think that nothing works because we talked in the Italian forum about Usb support and NOBOBY was able to obtain anything from 5-6 differents memory sticks, Mp3 players, Photocameras etc, also including Fat95, crossdos etc.
SOme bugs in the mass_storage layer of poseidon?

I've an USB Stick 128 MB. Written on it is Centon.
It works really great with the Poseidon that came
    with MOS.

In the settings for it I've checked:

    Simple SCSI
    No Initial Reset
    Translate CMD6 ->CMD10

WOW, at least 1 USB stick in the world that works with MOS, that's great! :-)
In my last post, I'm not joking. Installing the latest posedion I get strange messages in the debug window like "teddy bear storage device" or "wireless pacemaker"... Am I crazy or the posiedon going crazy???

This is a really odd thread becauase all the mass.storage supported digi cams I tried on Pegasos worked fine if you have Fat95 in L;. I also just got a 32mb USB Stick that I opened the package of and plugged into the usb and it mounted right up and worked right off the bat!
Also, zip drive mounted and worked fine as well as all the mice and keyboards I've tried... I actually feel MOS has one of the better usb stacks on the market. As for Mp3 players I have heard that the

    Creative Muvo Nomad series works..

Yes, I've seen it at my friend's Pegasos-I, but I have the same probleam as the guy whith the MP3 player: I'v got a CASIO digital camera (works well from linux as a standard usb mass storage - even w!n doesn't asks for dirver...), and a Palm whith the new CardMount (it makes an USB M.S. drive from the palm), but either of these works.

I can see the cam, and it writes that it is mounted, but the biggest thing I could arrive was that there is no disk in drive or not a dos disk (yeah, with alien-icon :P). The Palm is worse...

So could anybody tell me what are the settings their devices working with? Wich version of fat95? What is the DOS type? Or anything I don't know? (e.g. some kind of magic...)

Please help me, I MUST mount my camera until wednesday... :/

I tried both my MP3 player (Nex IIe) and my digicam (Pentax Optio S). They are Mass-Storage compatible, but seem to have some quirks. Using Linux I have to use a workaround flag for the digicam (US_FL_FIX_INQUIRY).
Both seem to be recognized and configured correctly with the latest Poseidon version, but when I want to access the MP3 player a requester "not a DOS disk" pops up. The digicam is mounted correctly, but when I list the contents I get only garbage instead of a directory listing.

Thanks for answer, but my cam doesn't work with your settings. I've found a link, where I've read, that the CASIO has implemented a not-fully-standard mass storage support. But if it's true - why does linux and w!n recognize it and why does Poseidon not?

    @ maurensen and Paochi

I've a 128 Mb USB stick, marked PNY. And it works with fat95 V3.10 and the original Poseidon version available in MorphOS 1.4.2.

I'm writing more details (of local interest) in the Italian thread...
