I decided to systematically go through each and every Ebay listing for Playstation 2 controller adapters and buy one at a time until I found the one that was compatible with AROS/MorphOS.

Well as fate would have it, my first attempt was a good one! While my MorphOS machine recently died and I was not able to test on there, I was able to test on my AROS machine and the results were beautiful, and I'm sure this will work with MorhphOS or even a classic Amiga with USB adapter as well.

Here's a link to the auction...

I'm on my way back to purchase a couple more before you guys buy them all out! ;)

Yeah, this works even with MorphOS 1.4!

Guess why BoulderDäsh is even supporting the rumble feature of those controllers. :D

I'm happy, I had bought a SNES adapter before but it didn't work with any of my Amiga clones.

I've got a store branded PS2 pad adapter from Game that bought many years ago. It's worked with every OS I've tried it on!

I use that and my home made 9-pin joystick to USB adapter on MorphOS. (Made by following this guide: USB adapter for Atari joysticks)

Putting in the DS3 it is identified by Poseidon but I have a mac mini with lousy two usb-ports and no games so I cant furrthermore. Heres the Poseidon log:

0-hub.class: Device 'Dell USB Keyboard' at port 2 is gone!
10-hid.class: Interrupt pipe failed: response timeout (6)!
0-hid.class: And don't you come back no more, 'Dell USB Keyboard'!
0-hub.class: New device 'PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller' at port 2. Very nice.
0-hid.class: Using HID Descriptor from initial configuration run.
0-hid.class: HID the road, 'PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller'!
5-Trident: Forcing a DirScan for (new) classes, as you probably updated to a newer version.
0-poseidon.library: The door bell rang for moschipeth.class V4.4 (Ethernet SANA driver for MosChip MCS7830 chipset via usbmoschipeth.device (MOS)).

Why is everyone so fixated on PS controllers, they horrible.

Are there drivers for XBOX 360 controllers ?

Very true, though I do like the PSX directional pad a lot.

360 has the best analog and button placement, but no we have no drivers for it.

While PS3 joypad shows just nice in Poseidon, I'm afraid it needs to be somehow "activated" via the connection, before it actually works. No idea what exactly needs to be done, but there are open source drivers for f.ex. linux.

Also, I think I got one compatible dual-PS2 adapter from DealExtreme, don't remember the exact type though. Could check later.

It would be nice too see the ps3 controller fully supported. That and Wiimotes via bluetoothe.
