I did modify my Powerbook 17" with a new Panel it now has 16:10 FullHD and above resolution 1920x1200, it runs fine under OS X.
But like pega-1 told me it won't run in MorphOS because the driver has hardcoded resolutions. Maybe it will run in 1600x1200 or something like that. And maybe pega-1 would code something to make it usable in MorphOS.
Here is a link to Thread on a Mac Forum about the mod:

And you can do that on 15" Powerbook when you find a 15,2" Panel or use a 15,4" Panel.

I would never do this on mine because it's a 15" and I already find its resolution (1440x960) too big (I regularly use 1280x960 on a 22" CRT!!) for a 15"! Ok, you can set bigger fonts and dekstop icons, but I still think it's too much for that little display, moreover I think when MOS3.0 is finally out I'll have problems to use my preferred skin with that so high resolution!

Yeah, I'm with Miky on this one.
It sounds neat, but I don't use resolutions that high on my 19" LCD monitor.
And with only 64-128MB of VRAM I'm not sure how well MorphOS would work at those resolutions.

There is no problem using high resolutions with 64MB VRAM. I am using 1920x1200 on my Mac mini without problems.

But I wouldn't use it on my MorphBook, 17" is way too small.

Just for curiosity I tried 1600x1200 on my mini and everything seemed less smooth: even moving or resizing a window under Ambient seems less reactive when you increase too much the resolution. Even for this reason high res on MorphOS are not my choice.
However we're speaking about the Radeon 9200 that is inside the Mini (if I remember well it's neither a real AGP one), one of the slowest GFX board of the history! The Radeon 9700 in the Powerbook is much much faster..

Humm, I dont see why increasing resolution would make window resizing any slower. But it might matter if you have got only 32MB VRAM. It is quite limiting at higher resolutions.

If that mod uses LEDs to light the display it may be quite interesting as it would save some battery and would make it last more time without a plug, that would be specially interesting for travelling.

I believe it is a real AGP one and it's just that MorphOS pre-3.0 cannot use AGP transfers regardless of the machine, so that even on machines with real AGP slots (i.e. PowerMac G4) AGP transfers will only be available with MorphOS 3.0.
