Hello, now this is a funny one, I had a 1.42 Mac Mini, and the little fan ran cool, but on my 1.5 the fan speeds up, almost all the time, not so bad on MorphOS, but on Mac OSX, it like all the time.

I've opened her up and theres no dust at all, but the little fan, it's only got one opening, and that does not point towards the Heatsink, instead it points at the side of the case, is that right? I've just had a look at

    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/Installing-Mac-mini-PowerPC-Fan/267/4

    YVfNqKt6OQlVVWUV.medium

and it that picture the power cables are 90 degrees different to mine, ie the fan points straight at the heatsink,

Which is the correct way to assemble these things?

I've check a couple more pics on the Interwebs, and they all seem to be pointing towards the CPU, so I've swapped it, put it all back together again, and even playing a flash video isn't causing the fan to increase in speed.

I think it's been like that for 6 years :-o
