Today i had a bit of time and decided to install OpenSuse 10.3 on my (resurected) efika. Not that i needed linux on it, especially as it's way too slow even with XFCE to be usable, but i wanted to make sure that the issues i always had with morphos on Efika were software related.

1 - the crappy sound on right channel under morphOS

I can confirm the sound is good and on both channel under OpenSuse.
I played several mp3 through Audacious and the sound was good, i checked the difference with monitor headphones. So definately not a hardware issue, but something wrong with morphOS.

2 - USB mass storage dropping

I tried all the things i've heard and read, from esoteric to technically wise, and nothing worked, from the powered usb hub to the new battery, to the better psu and blah blah...
Running Opensuse, I copied around 16gb of files, from 4 different usb devices and i had no problems, everything went fine, nothing made the whole system freeze like it does on MorphOS.

so please, when will this gonna get fixed ? it's nice to support all these fancy powermacs and books around but will the work be finished one day on the efika ?

    thanks.

So you bailed out on buying my Efika with not a word because you got yours to work again?
Could you have at least have told me so instead of leaving me hanging for 2 weeks in the world of the unknown?
