    Hello,

I would like to mount a game disk in adf format that is known to have a normal filesystem but it won't come up. The game is battlechess and I remember it having an icon on the desktop that would install to your harddrive.

I can understand getting errors with adfs that have no filesystem which a lot of games do not, but not one that does.
Any info on playing old style games in morphos welcome.

Your really should play this with E-UAE .... even if you could get the adf mounted, it still needs the customchips that you do not have unless you have morphos on a classic equipped with ppc.

There are several ways to access ADF disks. You might find using http://de5.aminet.net/util/arc/Voodoo-X.readme easiest.

Nice. I wasnt aware that Voodo-X also managed adf's.
And even better, I just tested - and it also can handle hardfiles as well.

An other option for opening adfs is diskimage 37.7. This lets you map up to ten adf's simulaniously to the diskimage.device (unit 0 to 9). And then they can be mounted with the Mounter tool. Then each disk will pop up on the workbench/ambient screen just like they was real amiga floppy disks.
Also there is a small command line tool named UnADF that lets you extract the files from an adf to a chosen destination. Subdirs will be maintained during extracting.
Both these tools are found on aminet.

You can use fileimage.device or XAD. Both come with a standard MorphOS installation. For games it isn't very useful because most bang Amiga hardware directly. Use E-uae with adf or hd-installed games.
