did it work with anyone ? I tried with this guide http://dreamolers.binaryriot.org/dualboot.pdf

But all I get is " MAC-PARTS: specified partition not valid can't open the DIR device " ... no matter what unitnumber or letter I try.

It could be that other OpenFirmware versions have this command slightly modified or use a bit more params to access the hd. The guide was made for the Mac mini which only has 1 hdd controller, PowerMacs have up to 3 afaik.

It's possible that the 'hd' alias points to some other hdd than the hdd you installed MorphOS on. The correct line might look something like /pci@f4000000/ata-6@d/disk@0 instead of 'hd' in the boot command. Of course, you need to find the correct your path yourself.

Reading http://www.firmworks.com/QuickRef.html could get you started.

It's also useful for pairing bluetooth HID devices (at least on the mac-mini) as the pairing seems to be stored in NVRam (hence BT keyboard/mouse works under MorphOS with no BT Stack).

So you can actually use your wireless bluetooth Apple keyboard/mouse in MorphOS ? But does that want to say you always have to boot OSX first and reboot into MorphOS ?

Unofficially, yes you can use BT keyboard/mouse under MorphOS. they are seen as USB HID devices. See here for more details.

The BT keyboard & mouse need pairing under OSX (but only once), and should then work under MorphOS.

There is no need to boot into OSX first each time you switch on the machine - just once in order to complete the pairing of the devices.

I habe been trying to make it work, making my MOphOS default in a dualboot powermac ... Am I glad that I found the " set-to-default" command in Openfirmware ;-). So in short, no luck.

Found it ... And it couldn't be simpler. If you have two hard disks in your Powermac, one with MACOSX and the other with MORPHOS on the same ATA port, all you have to do is jumpering the drive you want to boot from to "master" (and ofcours the other one to slave).

Which machine are you using (MorphOS supports so many now)?

AFAIK no-one had yet posted to say that Bluetooth devices are working on Powermacs.

For Mac-mini, first do the bluetooth 'pairing' under OSX (you only need to do this once), then the devices should work under MorphOS.

There is another way to access controllers from openfirmware in a less complex form (at least in some powermacs). You may use the "ultra" name. I think it was something like ultra1, ultra2, ultra3... to access disks.

At least, it worked in mine, with somthing like:

    boot ultra2:\ whatever.txt

I'm speaking from my remindings, so perhaps this is all crap... I will check it when I get home...

Have you reached home ? ;-)

Seriously, what model of powermac do you have ? Can you tell what you have done to boot MorpOS by default ?
