    Hello,

I am trying to get a cdrom to mount and have installed the 2 morphos ports of cd filesystems (AmiCDROM,CDVDFS 1.4) but they both fail with a protect error on line 633 error message unable to locate file or drawer.

    What am I doing wrong?
or is there something else I should be doing before setting up a cd filesystem.

    thanks

Why are you setting up a cd filesystem in a first place? How are you mounting your cdrom?

Are you saying that morphos picks up a cd by default?

When i put in a cd morphos didnt do anything on my mac mini.
I had a look in dosdrivers and storage and with there being nothing
present that I must have to install a cdfilesystem like on classic amigas.

The CD filesystem is part of MorphOS and CDs should work on Mac Mini without hassle. So you dont get CD icon to your desktop, shell (try info command) or anywhere?

    Hi,

I once had a problem with one of the Heretic II installation disks (which had an audio and data part). It wasn't recognized by MorphOS on my Mac mini when I inserted it - neither in Ambient, nor shell.
But as it did work after a reset, I thought that maybe a former running programm had borked up the CD recognition process.

Sometimes CDs, both data and music don't appear on the desktop, only inside 'My MorphOS'. Not quite sure why it does that, maybe I should report it as a bug or something.

If CD is inserted after reboot it may fail to appear into desktop. It is a bug somewhere in the MorphOS where Ambient is not getting notification for inserted disk. It happens only once after reboot, if ever.

Ahhh I have been trying Amiga future magazine covercds and they are CD Rs :O

I found an commercially run cd and it worked fine with an icon on the desktop and it appearing in the unmount titlebar gadget.

Now that begs the question.....does Morphos handle cdrs differently?

or is it really that the mac mini optical drive is not built for cdr?
