Entering to the open firmware of a 1,42ghz macmini i can see morphos and osx icons to boot but i need to wait sometime for anything, meanwhile the fan start to make the classic fan noise. Thats normal? If not, any kind of solution?.

    Thanks.

That's the graphical boot menu, not OpenFirmware.

To learn how to make OpenFirmware skip the network booting initialization see jacadcaps's famous dual boot guide.

Yes, there is some information in one of the other threads that tells how to disable the MacMini from looking through other options for booting from and speeds up the time it takes to get to the choice of which hard drive partition you can boot from. I also would like to make the change needed to speed up my system's time from pushing the on button to being able to click on the MorphOS boot partition.

Or I might just decide to get rid of MacOSX on my G4 MacMini since I almost never use it to run Tiger as I have two other Mac computers with Intel CPUs for running MacOSX and don't need to run it from the G4 MacMini.

I think I would rather have my G4 MacMini dual boot one of the better Linux distro's and MorphOS so I could use it for running the tons of free Linux programs as well as video ripping and editing software to provide MorphOS & MPlayer with tons of movies to watch from my 80gb internal & 250gb external hard drives. I have heard that Linux has some pretty good video editing (and ripping?) software at low or no cost and I would like to explore those possibilities, so if any of you have suggestions for Linux video/movie/dvd ripping, editing programs, let me know.
