I bought a USB to IDE adapter today, and plugged it into the Efika with a Belkin USB hub. Poseidon mounts the device just fine, but there seems no way to mount or access the device plugged into it. I quickly searched this site and found no obvious answer, so do I have to make a mountlist? Possibluy a setting in Poseidon?

Poseidon says 'MSD: USB to ATA/ATAPI Bridge LUN 0 available through usbscsi.device unit 0!'
Device " is of Direct Access type.
Device does not seem to use removable media.
    Removable task started.
    SCSI_READ_CAPACITY failed: 45
Trying to mount unit 0 via MorphOS mount.library
    SCSI_READ_CAPACITY failed: 45

Maybe the device can't handle a CDROM drive? If it's ATA then it should, but perhaps it needs something else?

As always, thanks in advance :-)

a thread actually existed on this setup, but finding it is not my specialty. Not sure if this helps but place a disc in in and listen for access, then check within the cubed Os icon. If it's not on ambient, it may mount there. cdroms on efika are tricky. I've posted a few threads on the topic, but they do work. Don't know if this will help. (there was also something about a mount)

I've the same problem with a USB-CD/DVD-Writer! It is possible to read data from the CD/DVD using the logical device (CD0:), but there is no way to access the player directly via usbscsi.device.... So it is not possible to access e.g. audiotracks directly with a CD-Player-program to stream them over USB and play them with EFIKAs built in soundchip, nor you can read or write data on a CDR/DVDR with FryingPan......
Think this is caused by a Poseidon-problem....I've posted this in Pegasosforum, but didn't get any reaction till now....so I am waiting for a solution too.....

I decided to try it with an actual hard drive-and it works! This is being typed in from an old version of Sputnik run off my Peg I's hard drive.
So the adapter works fine. I guess it's just meant for hard drives :-/

Though I must say that it seems pretty snappy even with the Efika's USB ports.

Try disabling Simple SCSI or whatever it's called in Poseidon.
