Its official, I'm getting a 1.25ghz mdd and I need to know what will the best cards for it be? I will want to know for sound, video and possibly UltraATA.
    My Macs:
    Powerbook G4 ALU 1.5GHZ 15" 1.5GB OSX.5.8
    Powermac G4 MDD 1.5GHZ OSX.5.8 MOS2.7

Want a part for a Mac? Let me know, I'll see what I can do.

Amithlon is amazing, questions and help I can provide.

Those should be specific Mac variants, right? What's wrong with the onboard video, audio and disk controllers? MorphOS doesn't have drivers for everything...
The goal should be having a computer which is identical to the obe the developers have, if you want it to work immediately.

No, i want to wait for the official port to it. The onboard on these machines iirc is igp class which means they use system ram?

AHI uses system RAM anyway, whether it gets copied to the soundcard also or just used natively.

IGP usually refers to integrated graphics, but I'm not aware of that being used on PowerMac G4. No idea how audio compares to an SBLive and only some pci SCSI controllers are currently supported for storage.

As far as video is concerned, if no new cards get supported then keeping the built-in 9000Pro is already a very good option.
As for ATA, let's see what they come up with.

Radeon 8500 would be the best gfx option right now although it seems that future MorphOS versions may support R9500/9600/9700/9800.

I have seen firmware images to reflash 64MB?Radeon8500 but sadly I have not seen firmware images for 128MB models. Anyone has links to mac gfx card firmware for R8500 or 9100 with 128MB support?

No onboard video, thus no IGP.
