The only advantage is LVDS interface and (maybe) power consumption - what is surprising there is no power consumption specified on the application note, it is very important factor for embedded computing, but well, the chip has no radiator, so one can expect below 2 watts. Then we have only disadvantages
- Radeon 9200 SE is the same size as PMC version.
- Radeon 9200 SE has ready, matured drivers for both Linux and MorphOS.
- Radeon 9200 SE has 128 MB of VRAM. 8 MB is pathetic.
- Radeon 9200 SE is ten or more times cheaper (I've found no price on the webpage, but looking at other prices, this company isn't cheap).
- Radeon 9200 SE on the included riser does not increase Efika dimensions (the height is set by Eth/USB combined connector, not AGP riser, width and length are not changed.).
- Radeon 9200 SE has more powerful 3D engine.
- Radeon 9200 SE needs no additional, expensive riser.
The only way to get sizes of real laptop is to redesign Efika and add onboard graphics chip.
