Do you also have this problem with a fresh install ? Use an old harddrive for that, so you don't have to delete your existing setup.

This is a fairly fresh install. I did a clean install of 2.7 two days ago.

but does it act strange in MACOSX or whatever other OS you have on there ? did you try another IDEcable, ... I also noticed that when swapping drives that it's also not a bad idea to do a reset with that little button in the motherboard. Besides you have to set the clock again, it's not a big deal.

and final test: what does happen with the sonnet patch undone and your OEM cpu.
