Last lot of power books run faster than Mac Mini, 1.67Mhz, more memory 2 GB, and more graphics memory 128MB, so it should be a bit faster.
I saw an eBay auction for an eMac that advertised it as having 2GB RAM and a 160GB hdd running OSX 10.5.6. I was surprised to see that the eMac could use 2GB RAM, or was that a mistake from the seller?
If I could get 15 to 20 of the 1.0GHz to 1.42GHz models in a bulk auction for around $20 to $35 each, I would buy them and get them ready to run MorphOS2.5 (or 2.6, 2.7, if 2.5 does not support them yet when it is released) so I could sell them at $50 each.
Those would (will) give the AmigaOS4.1 SAM buyers really think twice before they spend over $1,000 for their systems which can't match the performance of the eMac with MorphOS at little over 1/4 the cost of their SAM computers.
I had better stop wasting so much time here and get working on writing those installer scripts to make it easier for newbie MorphOS users to get third party software working. The advantage of me getting the systems in advance, just like RUUD's plans to pre-purchase MacMini's and then configure them and resell them, is that I could do the same preconfiguring of the eMac's before reselling them.
I don't know if I would like to go backward to using a 17" screen size, now that I have been spoiled with my 20" Dell LCD and my 23" Acer widescreen LCD that I currently use with my Efika and MacMini G4 respectively, but for many people used to 13" 1084 crt monitors to run Amiga software, a 17" crt will be a big improvement.
Edit: Pampers, I would like to see that video of MorphOS running via VNC on your PC laptop, please share.
