Soo seems my Pegasos 2 finally kicked the bucket and died on me, same week MZ was down. ;(

Do anyone know how to contact Bplan?
Would it be possible to mail the board to them ? in hopes of getting it fixed ?
Or dont they do that anymore ?

Any replys would be nice, if anyone has done this before.....

You'll find bplan over here http://www.bplan-gmbh.de/bplan_en.html

Thomas Knäbel is really a nice and helpful guy, hope he is still there.

Soo i got my answer and he wants me to check the output of the pegasos 2 serial port.

Well ;P he says quote: "connect a second machine to the serial port. Please use a null modem connection, setting 115200 8N1."
As in the old amiga serial null modem cabel will work ?
I will need a pc that has a serial to connect too also im quessing.
But no mention of what software to use while trying that.

Any replys would be nice ;P

Yeah, a null modem cable should do on any classic to check that...you can use ncomm or term.. ncomm is available on aminet.. not sure about Term though.

    Good luck,

    We do not bplan.
I would make fair more sense to contact Paul Gentle at Varisys.

I disagree. In my humble opinion, having the board repaired by the board's developer makes the most sense. Besides, I doubt that Varisys offers such smallest-scale repair service for 3rd party hardware. At least their homepage doesn't mention anything about repair service.

If there are experts about the Pegasos out there, it's the guys from bplan who actually designed and build that computer. Their service is said to be pretty good.

Do you really think its worth paying to fix a computer that is that much slower then a Power mac (unless you want to run, ugh, OS4)?

Personally, I'll wait till A-eon comes up with its next machine, and in the meanwhile I'll use my Macs.

The Pegasos is a dated platform.

    @Jim

It is dated but if I had broken Peg2 then I would try to get it fixed and sell it. If you are lucky you can get your repair bill paid and afford fast PowerMac + MorphOS license.

As long as MorphOS still runs on it, Pegasos platform is NOT dead. And there are people -including me- who have paid good money for their Pegasos system back on the days when MorphOS was running only on Pegasos systems. Well those people do not want to see their machines broken and useless.
