Good question, as that would extend running time while using battery power to run MorphOS3.0.
I have not read all of the MorphOS3.0 release notes yet, but if no battery monitoring program has been written to warn users of a low battery condition, but seeing that there is a battery command which shows the condition and charge percentage of the battery, I think that it should not be long before someone writes a MorphOS3.0 program to periodically check the battery level and once it reaches a certain level, it could flash a warning message on the screen or trigger some kind of other warning sound, or visual indicator to warn the user to save their work and shut down or plug the battery charger in, before the battery is completely discharged and MorphOS3.0 shuts down.
I have found with MacOSX that sometimes the low battery warning does not work and if the battery gets so low as to shut down MacOSX, it sometimes depletes the PRAM battery as well and causes the loss of some settings, like the clock settings and Internet wireless router passwords, which must then be re-entered before I can connect to my WLAN.
All that should be needed is a background program that runs the battery command in a shell and can read the results into a program that parses the battery level percentage and triggers some kind of action when it gets lower than say 15% to 10%.
