Is HP postscript level 3 emulation accurate enough to serve under MorphOS (as a substitute for Postscript)?

Thanks Dake (and Andreas of course),
Apparently I've managed to bring up a topic I've already discussed (yet again).

Newegg.com has a Xerox laser printer with PCL 6 and 5e emulation for $179.99 and free shipping (with 32MB of memory).

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16828118526

They also have an HP printer with HP PCL 6, HP PCL 5c, HP postscript level 3 emulation listed for $199.99 and $4.99 shipping and handling (with 128MB of memory and network connections).

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16828115774

I think it might be time to upgrade from my HP inkjet.

The second one is similar to the HP1515n which works well on Morphos (HPGL-Emulation and PS)! It features a web-interface to config printer. But I strongly recommand additional RAM (+256MB)! With 128MB it ist not possible to print a full color A4-sheet, because the complete sheet-data has to be transfered to printer RAM first, before internal processing in the printer will be started.
Don`t buy original printer RAM from HP! It is crazy expensive - there are other companies which offers the same RAM under normal conditions.....you have to google...

Thanks, I hadn't considered that issue as 128MB would be adequate for a black only printer.

    Edit - 256MB from Newegg $9.99

    Beware of the CP series.
    I have the CP1025nw.
It uses a proprietary protocol called winstream to print.
Takes a custom driver to make it work with unix.
It does not have postscript so I don't know if this example applies.
    Do your research before buying.

Obviously, he did and already told about the outcome of it in this very thread (hint: it's in #4).

As Andreas has pointed out, that is a significantly different printer.
The CP1525nw supports Postscript emulation which should make it a better candidate.

We've been hashing this one around for awhile.

Newegg sends me a offer of 10% off HP Laser printers and when I check it out they've raised the price of the CP1525nw by $20.
Do they think of these things ahead of time?
