9139 vs 9138 which is faster?

    Interesting seeing the memory speed comparisons between DDR and DDR2.

    Begs the question is the older 9138 actually faster than the newer 9139?

    Wow,surprising that an older model is actually faster then the newer.

    Wonder if the PB would work with 2 latency memory to help out.

    Or I have to trade back to my old 1138... this is just crazy...

    There may be other factors relating to the (very simplistic) test.

    EG - I had 'quit' all other applications: firefox, thunderbird, system profiler, etc which were running in the background.
    My OSX is a fairly vanilla install, but Osco may have modified his.
    I have only 1GB memory installed, Osco has 2GB.
    Osco's PB will no doubt have a greater screen resolution than my 1280x854.
    Were any 'scheduled updates' running in the background?
    etc...

    @Osco - fancy doing some rendering tests on Blender_for_OSX? This could give us some more valid, real-life comparisons rather than the sterile memtest results.
