Local person is selling a single G4 1GHz CPU Mirror Power Mac with 24" ADC Apple Display. Has 1.75GB RAM.

Will MorphOS 2.7 run on this with sound and all?

Is there something specific I need seller to look in the OS for to confirm this model system will work for me?

Just make sure it has a supported Radeon graphics card.

Sounds like the card that comes with it is not as he tells me it is the NVIDIA GeForce2 MX. So, I guess I would need to buy a new video card.

Can anone tell me if the Apple ADC Port 24" Display will work with it. This is the special Apple ADC port displays.

    macsociety,

The ADC port is on the video card. If you buy a genuine supported Mac version ATI Radeon such as 7500, 8500 etc it will have the ADC port. If you buy a PC Radeon that has been reflashed with a Mac BIOS, it will not have the ADC port.

I have a spare Mac Version ATI Radeon 7500 that I could sell to you for almost nothing.

    redrumloa,

    PM sent about the card.

So I take it your card is this one shown in the HELP list for compatible video cards on the morphos website?

ATI Radeon 7500 (RV200) is what they show.

    macsociety,

Yes, I pulled this card from a Power Mac Quicksilver 2002. It works fine. I will reply to your PM.

Or you could look for an Apple Radeon 9000Pro or 8500.
Both would perform better and aren't particularly expensive.
