O.K. What I did to resolve my issues with the MorphOS Cd not booting was cleared the NVRAM, then changed out the IDE cable that I was using on my CD-ROM. The one I was using was from an old XBOX and I'm not sure it was allowing the CD-ROM to work at it's full speed.

After doing this, it booted off the CD every time.

The odd thing though is that when it boots off the CD, the screen gets these little lines of static...

it's hard to describe, but it's kind of like what your TV would look like in the 80's when your mom ran the vacuum cleaner.

Anyhow, once MorphOS is installed and booted from the hard drive, these screen issues vanish and the picture becomes crystal clear.

Mind you though, this IS NOT the end of the screen issues! I still get screens that say that the frequency is out of range, I.E. if I load up a game that is meant to be played in 800x600 full screen or what ever...

Giana's Return, Wolfenstien, etc. If I play in a window, or in MorphOS default resolution, I'm fine, but if I try to change anything, I loose my display.

I thought I knew just what to do to resolve this, but apparently I am wrong and MorphOS does not allow you to change your monitor type?!?!?!?!?!??!?!!?

Ok. so I went into Monitors where it states that I am using an iMac monitor. Well actually I'm on an eMac, but close enough I guess.

Cool, easy enough, I'll just change it right?

So I click on the button to the right of it which brings me to a menu listing all sorts of monitors...

Strangely enough, the iMac is not in the list, even though it's the one it selected by default.

So I go through the list and try to find my monitor, but it's not listed. There are other Sony monitors, but not mine.

So I select something that uses a 60Hz Refresh.

After this I try to create and test new screen modes, but depending upon the monitor I select, it either tells me I have to use a VESA mode, or it sticks me in a 8-bit display.

Anyhow, I deleted all the screen modes in the mode list and created a couple new ones using the VEDA mode so that I was not stuck in 8-bit.

I saved all my work, then went into SCREENS, but alas, NONE of the changes I made in MONITORS were reflected here. I could not see any of my new screen modes, and the ones that I had deleted were still present, but their resolutions were all off.

earlier I screwed up and saved here which of course killed my display after reboot.

This time I did not change anything in screens and only left my Monitor settings saved....

    Ironically after a reboot....

EVERYTHING was back to how it was and my default monitor was again iMac.

    So what's up with that?
