I plug in a macmini on a different monitor that supports 1280x1024 like native resolution, but on morphos preferences i just can select 640x408, the same monitor with the same machine boots up osx at 1280x1024 without problems, any clue?

well, check the cable, the monitor also has to be turned on to recognize the native resolution... here happens the same when the monitor is connected thru KVM and another computer is activated...

The monitor is directly conenected to the computer without any KVM and with same conditions under osx i can select 1280x1024 without any problems.

Try another VGA cable maybe ?

Tryed, and the same, osx at 1280x1024 and morphos at 640x480. This kind of errors are the worst.

Checked the log for DDC related errors?

In case of ddc.library incompatibility with your monitor, you are still able to manually define the screenmodes you want. Like everybody was doing in MorphOS 1.x.
You can check the "Monitors" preference and its old (and not so up to date) documentation at SYS:Docs/ModeEdit.pdf.
Of course, it's a lot more work than automagically getting the exact screenmodes supported by your monitor.

well, 1280x1024 is a vesa standard, so it's quite simple to set it up...

i keep my fingers crossed...
