Ok here are my results now that the 4000t is off my desk and the peg2 is back!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz_C6d6jbhc

This is NOT the org clip i talked about but in my testing im 100% cpu and the audio is stuttered in and out... almost watchable though.. wonder if there is a tooltype or some switch to help with the sync?

    Hmm this one

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lj112DIqkkk

Plays fullscreen in browser @ around 50% cpu perfect sync and audio. 360 p

Cant find that one I had and this owb 1.11 history shows nothing.. maybe it was 1.10 but i cant find it :(

Not watchable at all on my 1.5 GHz G4.

    > wonder if there is a tooltype or some switch to help with the sync?

    Yes, there is.

    https://morph.zone/modules/newbb_plus/viewtopic.php?topic_id=7524&forum=9&post_id=78948#78948

But I doubt that would help on a 1.0 GHz G4.

Umm what do you mean "not watchable"? I get 100% cpu video looks good and moves near sync audio is in and out and laggy..

      > what do you mean "not watchable"?

It means that video plays too slow and therefore lags more and more behind audio (which plays at normal speed of course).

      > I get 100% cpu

      Me too.

      > video looks good and moves near sync audio is in and out and laggy..

If "looks good" includes slight slow-motion, then yes, it does. But that's not what I call watchable when it causes audio and video to diverge.

      > Dont be ridiculous.

Mind you, I'm not the one having blown about being able to watch a 720p Youtube video at 40% CPU workload on a 1.0 GHz G4. If you found that specific video we could have clarified the factual issue once and for all. The way it's now nothing is clarified.

Very watchable (in HD res) on my 1.42GHz G4, but only in overlay mode, of course.
I watched for 5 minutes, and sound was still in sync, at least. CPU usage varying from 85 to 100% depending on content.

You might want to use "skip all frames" in loop filters for HD content (gives a 30% speedup).

I was testing without any loopfilter option applied because that's what I think matches magnetic's test config (his question regarding "a tooltype or some switch to help with the sync" implies this at least). Are your own test results with or without having applied a loopfilter option?

Okay, thanks. So not matching magnetic's software config.

      @magnetic

In OWB, from settings -> media.
In MPlayer, uncomment the relevant line in conf/config, or add "lavdopts=skiploopfilter=all" if you don't have it anymore).

      HD video correction:

      The alien video plaed Perfect.
I downloaded it and it was 162mb in size.
The difference between it and the ones I cannot play is that it has a framrate of 24fps.
The ones I cannot play correctly wihtout getting out of sync are 30fps.
So I can do HD but 25fps or so seems ot be the limit. 30fps won't work right.
I feel a little better having spent $180 on the Sonnet 1.8ghz cpu.

Here is the wiki article on 24p. Blueray is supposed to be 24 frames per second, not 30.
