Hello there, it was som time ago now since I posted here.

    I have a Pegasos 1 with 256MB ram and a ATI 9250 graphicscard.
I have installed MorphOS 2.4 and it feels quick and nice on this machine.
But I have not registred MorphOS yet.
I wonder if I should wait and buy a macmini G4 and a key for that computer just to keep beeing in the loop.
Does games and newer MorphOS programs really need more power?
If so, its quite a bit more money to pay. 250 EUR for a macmini and 150 EUR for the key-file. Do you think its worth it?
Right now I only have to pay 150 EUR for a keyfile.

Well a mini is noticeably faster than a Pegasos 1, for newer more CPU intensive applications and games you will certainly notice a difference. Of course expansion potential is more limited, so you're stuck with the builtin Radeon, RAM is easier to find, but see if you can't find a way to try it out on a mini so you can decide for yourself.

Depends what do you want to do on MorphOS mate, but I can recommend Mac Mini as a greatest piece of hardware for MorphOS.
    MorphOS 3.x

Well, switching from G3 to G4 is very pleasurable, so many things work faster :). IMHO it's worth when MorphOS is your main system. MorphOS itself doesn't need much to work nice (look at Efika), so if your Pegasos G3 is enough fast for you, stay with it. If you don't have enough money you can wait for big powermac port :).

Thanks for all the answers. :)
I use MorphOS and my Pegasos mainly for mail.
    Yam is the shit!! =)

But it is also a nice OS to use. Often I surf the web a bit and trying out a new program I find here on Morphzone.
And sometimes (like when playing movies) I find the G3 a bit slow.

But maybee I should just buy the god damn key and stop speedhunting. =) MorphOS on a Peg1 is very useable.

Well, how bad is that 30min limitation for you atm ? If you can stand it some more weeks/months you might want to wait for the PowerMac-port to be released.

HW can be had cheaper than a Mini, can be about as fast as the mini and beats even the Peg2 for expansion potential.

Another thought would be to sell the Peg and use that cash to help buy a Mac Mini/register that machine. I got my Mac Mini/registration for a little more than 500 USD (1.5ghz/64MB vram version) and have been quite pleased with the performance/price ratio. Nothing in the current "scene" can touch this performance/price ratio. Don't forget you can always dual boot to take advantage of OS X (or even Linux) which adds some value to the decision for most people.

The jump from a PegI to Mac Mini worths it. On the other hand if you really need expansion you'd better wait for PowerMac port and get a 1.42Ghz PowerMac.

Beside the speed increase of the Mac mini (which is dramatic, but I still also like my Pegasos 1) I especially like the small form factor. I have the mini in the living room and it is rather invisible. Some ppl like to see/show their tech things, but I prefer them staying in the background - and the mini is very good in this regard.
But the Peg1 has its advantages, too: it is fanless it easily expandable, it is already there.

    Thanks all.
I will think about it when the Power Mac support arrives. I used it today for some mail and just for fun I started Q3, it surely made me wish for more power though. :)
    25-30 FPS in multiplayer.
But I mostly use MorphOS for fun, use my old Amiga apps and so on.
All mail is done in MorphOS.
Maybee I register MorphOS for this machine. I got this quadcore PC for heavy gaming. =)
