Simple question: what if it breaks?

I get another. Or whatever is available at that time.

May work out, but the Macs are aging. The power of them is good. But at least the higher clocked versions get pretty hot sometimes. I am not sure how expected lifetime for the 7447A/B actually is, but I doubt many (ore or less current ) cpus have lifetime expectations much above five year *if* they are not specially designed for that (i.e. low teperature). Yet I alway was lucky with my hardware (no failure of any part since 1989, except my BlizzardPPC broke down once!), but my current Pegasos just turns7 years now (got it exchanged at the Aachen show 2002). It still runs nicely (and I expect it to do so for a longer time (inspect evrything from tie to tie, exchange hdds every 3-4 years), the G3 doesn't get that warm), but I was very happy to get an exchange/spare maschine now. I would have been even more glad if it would have been brand new (wouldn't have mind to pay the double amount for a new maschine) and not two years old when I acquired it last year to put it to rest until MorphOS came out (rarely powered o to check everything's okay).
What I mean not only my and your mini getting older, but all minis out there. If yours will brake down (hopefully not!) other minis aged, too. Thus; i would very much welcome a possible supply of new ppc hardware that will at least keep the current power (and I guess the 8610 does the job pretty well).
Plus, what if you're thinking of the posibility to maybe do some kind of similar business like dentalkanal - to sell a product commercially you need *new* hardware. I am, at least, considering that approach (but of course nothing in the dentist domain!).
