I just tried to connect my VGA LCD to my Efika with a DVI to VGA adapter. I have two different adapters and two different LCD's that work fine on my PC, but when trying to connect them on the DVI port of my Radeon is a lot less sharp as connecting them to the VGA port.

Is there something I can change in the MophOS prefs ?

I have also experienced this, but i had no other solution but to connect the VGA display using the VGA header on the Radeon, to connect the display.. This problem only exists on some Radeon cards, not all, but the reason is still unknown. (I have experienced it on an Abit 9200SE.)

One is sure: it has something to do with MorphOS' Radeon driver, since OF and Linux runs just fine with the same HW setup.

I just tested it with an LCD with DVI and in that case it's fine. It seems only happening when connecting VGA to DVI. And like you say, Openfirmware is also fine.

I swapped the 9200 with another brand and now it works fine with the VGA to DVI adapter.

It seems that only certain Radeon cards are affected. In general, using the internal header will give you a much better display due to internal routing of the analog circuits.

Well the first card indeed worked fine with the internal header. But my EfikaZ case does not have a hole in the backplate to mount the VGAconnector so the flatcable was kind of hanging out.

And another side effect ... my USB seems to be a lot more stable with that 9250 compared to that 9200. Maybe coincidence, or maybe because the 9250 draws less power.

That said, the 9250 having lower specs compared to my 9200, Quake2 might run a little slower however I am not sure of it. Can the 400Mhz Efika even keep up with the speed of a Radeon ?
