    Hello!

    My Pegasos 2 has been acting weird for months. Almost a year. At first I thought it was some software problem, because it froze playing videos with mplayer, both in linux and morphos. Then, the power supply died... ^^;

    I replaced the power supply recently by a 80W power supply, AC-Adapter type. At first it was OK. But then, the freezings started again. I thought it could be the graphics card, so I tried another one, but it freezes too.

    Maybe the memory? I run memtest on MorphOS, but no error. I changed the memory to another slot, anyway, and for some days the system didn't freeze that many times...

    But it's kindda random... Could it be that there s not enough power? The system freezes even when idle! And I only have a Radeon 7500, a G3, and a harddisk (I disconnected the DVD drive...).

    I'd appreciate any comment or opinion.

    Thank u!

    Sure it could be a hardware problem. But I would first try to void out any software problem before you start messing with the hardware. :)

    Tried to grab a debuglog after such freeze happened? If you use ramdebug and have more than 256MB ram you can grab it after reboot after freeze by typing "getramdebuglog morphos.log" to shell and check the produced "morphos.log" file. Alternativly try to catch it with serial cable (u need to deactivate ramdebug then of course and means u need to have a 2nd computer running all the time until such random event happens).

    Maybe the log gives already a clue (some application going berserk or stuff). Maybe the log doesn't give a clue at all, but still could be a software problem then depending on what you were doing at the time or which programs were running in the idle time (reasons could be various here).

    regards,

    Thank u!

    I will try ;)

    But sometimes I just need to start something in the linux shell, newly rebooted, no X, to get the system freeze... ^^;

    I will check ramdebug anw ;) thx
