I am not able to power down my pegasos with the powerbutton.
Only a unplugging off the powerlead results in a shutdown.
Powering up through the button is no problem.
Is this a known problem or what??

Are you pushing it long enough (5sec) ?

    uuuh didn't know that.
Guess that is what you get when staying "classic" to long?
    Well working now.

Everytime I use A1200 nowadays I always get the feeling how cool it is when it turns off immediately :). Have I said that I hate ATX? Probably..

Well I'm not sure how "cool" it is to power right down. The reason PCs have a delayed Powerdown on the switch is so that you DONT by accident power done by brushing up against the button, or some mad pet wants to screw up the project you are working on for 8 hrs with no save! ;)

So its a Good Thing that there is a shutdown delay on the power button on pc cases.

Well, the power buttons I've seen can't be accidently pushed. And I mean the ones in the case, not if somebody wants to shut down something from the keyboard. Should be really skilled and mad pet to push normal pc case powerbuttons deep enough :) I haven't heard that kind of problems in pre-ATX times either :P Really bad case design if power button would be that sensitive :) Anyway.. old Amiga is much more fun to shut down (no accidents till today) :)

And that's not only thing because I don't like ATX.. could list tens of different ways ATX PSUs have misbehaved... if they only would work with some standard or logic :)

Good ATX PSUs all have a power switch on their back.
    At least mines do.

The power (switch) button in Infinitiv tower case most definitely can't be accidentally pushed. Yet I once managed to shut it down with a falling CD case that just somehow managed to hit the button hard enough in a right angle :-)

But even with ATX... I once shut down my Pegasos with a bottle that was holding againist the button for 5 secs.

And switching it off that way saves some electric power, too. Good for the environment, good for your wallet, bad for the power provider.

I have attached my Peg, tft and router to a switchable multioutlet whichis easy to handle.
