I had a previous thread on g5 usb issues.
However, the issues are now being consistant on two different machines.
    A powerbook g4 5,9 and a powermac g5 7,3.

The g4 was upgraded from 3.1 to 3.2.
Obviously the g5 has always been 3.2.

They are both now restricting usb communications with external devices to 1mb.sec read/write.

I cannot break that speed on either machine.
All usb devices still work fine on my windows laptop at normal speeds.

I never had any trouble with the g4 when running 3.1.

So the only common factor here is mos 3.2.

I spent my whole saturday fighting with this and I am exhausted.
The ASDCD says the g5 is in A1 condition.

Both machines have a great deal of trouble automounting, might take many reboots to get that to happen.

    All help appreciated.

p.s. I booted off a mos 3.2 boot cd and get the same problem on the g5. usb is deathly slow.

I have not tried booting the g4 off of a 3.1 cd so I will try that tonight when I get home.
